Kouzen is often served with Kleren. He is also given coffee. However, initiates at GNL Sosyete are taught how to make Kouzen’s very special trempe. A trempe is an alcoholic beverage with herbs steeped within it, that is made as a drink for a Lwa.
Kouzen is well known for his knowledge of working with herbs and plants.
This special drink is made and offered to Kouzen. It also has several secretive magical and healing uses.

As you may be aware, this month many Vodouisants hold fetes for Kouzen Zaka. Azaka is the patron of work. In these hard, trying economical times, Kouzen is a Lwa that is absolutely needed.
If Kouzen walks with you, now is the time to serve him and keep him strong to keep working for you.
If you are in need of a Job, now is the perfect time to have a Houngan or Mambo light a bouji in the name of Kouzen for you.

May is the month of Kouzen Zaka. Kouzen Zaka is the patron of work. He is associated with the image of St. Isidore. In Haitian Vodou, Kouzen is considered a peasent farmer. His abilitiy to work non stop is well known and for that he is highly regarded. . . . . .
Click here to read more about Kouzen Zaka
He is often approached to protect and safeguard one’s job, to obtain employment, and to protect farms and farm animals.
In Haiti, it is not rare for an individual to have a Houngan/Mambo come out onto their farm and bless it. Houngans and Mambos will also work with him to protect the individuals farm.
Kouzen is well known for his despise of theives. He is a great Lwa to safeguard the crops against any thievery.
Kouzen is a Lwa that loves to work! He works from sun up to sun down without a break. Kouzen also works for very little in return, though sooner or later Kouzen does like to be treated to a grand feast.
Kouzen has a wife, known to Vodouisants as Kouzin. She is a very successful market woman. She sells the crops which her husband harvests. Together they lead the nation of Djouba and also hold together a very large family of Spirits.
There are many other Zakas, most well known being : Ti Zaka, Azaka Mede, Minis Zaka, Azaka Krebs
If Kouzen is in your spiritual court, you should make an effort to serve him well this month.
This month in the blog we will be discussing the Mysteries of Kouzen, Stay Tuned to learn more about the Patron of Work

Hello fellow bloggers,
I hope all is well.
Last week was an extremely busy week, with Holy Week finally over, people were practically running each other over to get into the badji first. Tuesday, when the Badji opened, I had consultations from 8am- past 10pm . . . . . and all week it continued.
Saturday, we did a ceremony for St. Claire. It was a small but beautiful ceremony. This ceremony was a ceremony of payment and thanks. The individual who commisioned the ceremony was paying Metres Klemezin for fullfilling some promises and resolving the issues in her life.
Spiritually, there was alot of force! It was a very spiritually charged up ceremony and we had a beautiful time. We had many visits including . . . .
Danbala, LaSirene, Ezili Freda, Bosou, Ogou Chango, Ogou Feray, Sen Jak, Anaisa Pye, Metres Klemezin, of course . . . . . Danto, Papa Guede and more. . .
Wishing you a happy year,
Houngan Hector

Tuesday
Whew! What a day. I was booked solid with appointments today and have been laboring extensively in the badji. I am not going to write anything long, as I am quite exhausted.
But, I have to say, that today I saw quite an awful case. I am changing names, naturally, but I would like to relate this story.
A young woman came in today. She arrived for her appointment, and the first thing the Lwa said was “Tell her that her mother is the source of all her problems, she is envious and hateful of her . . . ”
I told her. Immediately, she broke down. She sobbed and sobbed. Unfortunately, I’ve seen quite a few of these cases. She said
“I know, I know, Houngan Hector, I’ve been everywhere. They tell me they will help me, but look at me. Nothing is going right. I still have my job by a thread! I don’t know what to do anymore”
“It will be alright, we are going to fix you up nice and good” I replied “You’ve come to the right place. The Misterios are going to help you”
And thus I consoled her and we finished our consult. I gave her the list of items to bring me and she will be returning in a few days to have this resolved.
I hope you, dear reader, are never in this situation. But envy and hatred from a mother is one of the worst things to endure. And if you are a mother yourself, love your children with all your might.

Papa Loko’s feast is tomorrow. If you do not know who Papa Loko is, I would suggest you read about him here.
Papa Loko is the first Houngan. A powerful healer and diviner, Papa Loko is the true Master of Ceremonies. He confers his knowledge upon those who have “taken the asson” or Houngans and Mambos Asogwe.
He is a Mystery that is served by us, Houngan and Mambo Asogwe, and whose rituals are for the most part secret.
Those who have Papa Loko in their court will have no choice but to become Houngans/Mambos in time.

Hello Fellow Vodouisants,
Happy Fet Papa Danbala. Wishing you the best, peace & harmony in your home and in your life.
Our service for Papa went lovely. The altar looks stunning and clean. It is radiating power. Papa was quite happy with it as well. One of my initiates who was over for the service was possessed by Papa!
Papa Danbala claimed one of my children, then he slithered into the altar and blessed it.
Ayibobo! Ayibobo! Ayibobo!
Luck
Houngan Hector
